Could’ve been 4 episodes without losing anything.
Could’ve been 4 episodes without losing anything.
Me too, since it seems very unlikely.
We can probably agree that someone didn’t feel like animating scorch marks by hand in that case.
These are minor details since Boba Fett isn’t a match for Luke. Any real connecting tissue would have to come in two parts - one being the Rebel Alliance and the other being Luke’s sister. The former would have to involve some kind of overall tie back to the real mission; the Battle of Endor. Why is the Alliance letting their top fighters go off to save one man when such a big campaign is being fought? We never find out, and it’s odd. The latter of course would be a bigger re-structure that ties this tease from ESB into the first and third act of the movie. There’s still be a bunch of forest moon antics lodged in the middle but that’s another story.
Thrawn has the voice of course but it seems like he’s acting with a lot heavier makeup on that is actually the case. Strange effect. This episode was weirdly structed like the rest of these shows, again suggesting the chapter breaks are arbitrary. It had a bunch more action though I guess. For a show about Ahsoka I don’t feel like I know anything more about her than in the prior shows… which wasn’t much. She’s suddenly lightened up as if something meaningful happened but nothing did. I don’t understand why the story so far (getting to Ezra) wasn’t just parts 1-2 so they could do something meanginful with the cast on this new planet against Thrawn, exploring his situation, the witches, etc.
IG-88 showed as much emotion as Dengar so that’s not the best comparison.
He’s bickering with R2 right away though in the original movie. He’s written as a neurotic servant and not a robot.
Del Toro should definitely make a space movie of his own.
If you haven’t seen those shows it’s probably better since you’d have no prior expectations. If anything this often feels like a stilted creepy cosplay rather than a continuation. Especially all the contact lenses they picked.
Imagine if your fave was Sabine in Rebels, but now she’s just an idiot: taking them map without thinking who else wants it, taking Balan’s offer without thinking that she’s obviously leading him to Ezra. She wasn’t a complete dope before right?
This show is kinda boring. Everyone in it is very dry and detached. That’s all I can really say beyond weird contrivances and things that just seem to happen to move things along without really being explored properly. People act on things that aren’t said, but don’t say things that would help certain actions be taken. It’s all very weird. I’m pretty sure Kanan did some basic training with Sabine but she never learned anything from Ahsoka. I could be mistaken but bulding up so much of this on an apparent falling out or a tragedy that’s barely mentioned is also weird.
Other things are just out of nowhere. Like that whole Anakin dream thing seems to be nonsensical given how difficult accessing the time warp world was before in Rebels, and how it seemed to function. It’s not like… overtly bad like Mando S3. But it’s not great in ways that are hard to explain. Which is odd when the Clone Wars Finale and the Bad Batch were a lot more interesting.
Sure. Fear, self-pity, bitterness, hubris, loneliness, whatever. You could argue that’s just the way he’s programmed but it’s not that kind of movie.
I loved Tazos. They should put stuff like that in packs of Doritos all the time.
No it wasn’t a thing in the previous animated shows, I think it was just for Jedi Fallen Order since in a game you have to sense places/objects to gain xp and exposition.
Technically retconned so Rey has it as well meaning it debuted with her, to explain her vision as she touched the lightsaber in The Force Awakens.
To me that feels like a random vision rather than a new power, and it’s never used again or talked about. Then again a bunch of stuff in TFA was never brought up later so who knows.
The weird horny parts of SOTE are what audiences today are missing.

Yeah… what’s been going on guys?
Sounds… not great. Pass until the series is done and maybe I will give Disney another month’s worth. Or not I suppose.
American Graffiti is coming to 4K in November. I’m waiting for them to announce the date for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Just “Fall” right now, probably after the August 29th streaming date.
But he said there is no Episode VII 😉
Mando is getting a 4k steelbook release so I wonder if they suddenly need cash. And if Australians will have to import.
Well his friends and their cause are two separate things. Until ROTJ anyway.
In the end his friends are irrelevant to the bigger picture. He makes it clear that becoming an agent of evil is the worse scenario.
Business as usual I guess…
Streams are based on a separate ISP quality that can randomly change, which I think is not a great deal. All that other hardware isn’t something I can comment on.
For a second I thought hey cool, OG Lando can be part of the narrative. Like a bookend or something. Then I immediately thought about crappy CGI de-age-ing and weird stuff. Which unfortunately is more likely these days.
